    Class Laptop My class laptops are old old donations and after much student use starting to come to pieces :-( Still I manage to run a fairly decent digital class with 6 of these, virtual keyboards can be useful if a bit slow.

    Moving files from old to new (temporary) laptop My old dell M1210 (3 years old now) has slowed down to a crawl. For the past few weeks it has been freezing every time it tries to run multiple applications, such as anti-virus, backup, spotify, etc. This has been getting on my nerves now, so I spent a few hours today changing computers...

Is my laptop running slow because of no antivirus?

I had Webroot anitvirus on my laptop..but my subscription expired and now I have AVG free antivirus. When I made this change, my laptop started to run very slow. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Yes, uninstall AVG and install Avira or Avast antivirus.

AVG was a good antivirus, I used it for probably 4 years or so. But recently their active protection causes computers to slow down and their protection against viruses is Sub-par.
