What will happen if I upgrade to Vista for my 2GB laptop?

I'm going to get a HP 2230s laptop. It has 2GB in it already. If I upgrade it frop XP to Vista, what will happen? Will the laptop get slower? Should I buy an extra 2GB?

it'll get slower, you'll wipe any data you ever had on it, your hunt for drivers will become an obsession, and if you have any older programs that aren't vista-compatible you'll wish you stuck with XP.

I am a fan of Vista. I like it.

After receiving this unit and getting it set up (correcting the date, time, recalibrating the screen several times, etc.)it worked sort of. No matter how I setup the wifi it would not work, will not connect even with a static IP address. I purchased the unit in good faith hoping to use it around the house as a moble computer without the weight and hassle of a laptop. Wrong! If you cannot connect to the internet then the unit is useless. I have contacted the seller at least 6 times and they seem angry that I questioned their product. My last inquiry about what to do or if they had a firmware fix was to contact someone else for a RMA number and return it at my cost to China. Lovely way to to do business, take my money, give a product that does not work as stated by you, then make me pay for the expensive return to get my money back. Avoid this product like the plague!
