Throughout 2011 we’ve noticed a trend emerging in the computer realm. Almost all categories of PCs are moving in one of two directions (aside from the obvious improvements in speed and power): either towards bigger screens with bold designs, or towards unthinkably thin and light bodies. Americans ask, “Where is the middle class?” Well, we see it disappearing from the PC market, too. Granted, we know it is still there, but it hasn’t done anything appealing this year. Tiny laptops and enormous laptops are where the action is.

So, we’ve accumulated an assortment of computers that are heading off toward niche status, but are doing it very well. We have multimedia notebooks with beautiful screens and innovative designs, and of course monster gaming notebooks with—yep—huge beautiful screens and innovative designs. We have family-friendly All-in-One gift ideas with film-worthy monitors and striking poses. We threw in a tablet and a home theater PC just for kicks, but the star of the show is the ultrabook.
