My husband wants to do a restore on his Acer laptop, but, unlike my eMachines and HP PCs, there is no option for a recovery during start up. He doesn't have the disc. Is there a prompt or command I can give the computer to get it to restore all factory

go to all programs, accessories then in the system tools folder (or somewhere there abouts depending on configuration) you will find system restore!

Restart the computer.  When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.  If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.  After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.  If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will from need to be from the Recovery Media.  Note : If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will from be required in order to recover the operating system using the Acer Recovery Media. I have 3 disks. Disks 1 and 2 of the "Recovery Disks" and 1 disk of the "System Discs". How do I restore my laptop to factory defaults? Alt+F10 on the acer logo at the beginning didn't work. I have restored it before with these disks but I can't remember how.
