To start the webcam you need to look for it's software. Might be something called Camera Assistant software for Gateway.

Go to Start, All Programs and look for it.

No Audio On Gateway Laptop - PC Pitstop Forums

I have been working on a Gateway M-1412 laptop the last few days and I am getting nowhere with the audio. I installed XP Pro and got everything working except sound. At first, I got a yellow (!) on the "IDT high definition audio CODEC" in device manager. Drivers would install, but I would get error code 10 device cannot start. I tried different drivers, but still got error code 10 and no audio. When I checked audio devices and properties, the default device was something about rear output(which I assume meant the earphone jack) No other options were listed. I tried some instructions that I saw on a forum and disabled the devices and uninstalled the drivers with add and remove programs, then reinstalled. All that did was take away the volume icon in the system tray. When I tried...
