Detroit — The son of a Wayne County judge who has consistently ruled against the Ambassador Bridge Co. in a lawsuit over the $230 million Gateway Project was among three new judges appointed last week by Gov. Rick Snyder to fill vacancies at the city's 36th District Court.

Matthew Moroun, son of the privately held bridge's owner, Manuel "Matty" Moroun, implied last month that Circuit Judge Prentis Edwards Sr. has slanted his decisions in the case to encourage Snyder to appoint Prentis Edwards Jr. to the vacant seat on the court.

Edwards Jr. and Michael Wagner, both Wayne County assistant prosecutors, and Shannon Holmes, a private practice attorney who has worked as Detroit Mayor Dave Bing's chief of staff, were appointed to vacancies created by the resignations of Judges Nancy Farmer and Noceeba Southern and the suicide of Judge George Chatman.

Jerry had a motorcycle accident last May and lost a finger. When the doctor working on the artificial finger heard he is a hacker, the immediate suggestion was to embed a USB "finger drive" to the design.
