    laptop dvd player does not detect movie dvd?

    I just got a new movie DVD and when I try to run it on my laptop DVD-ROM, it was not detected as movie DVD but as audio CD instead. It took long before it is detected and the sound when the DVD is spinning is also not as usual (bit slow and and like something

    Power DVD should have no problem in playing it. What about other DVDs on the laptop? Are they OK? If so it is possible that this DVD is a Sony Picture and has some funny new protection on it, to stop ripping.
