How to enable fingerprint reader in dell latitude D830?

I just got a Dell Latitude D830 and it seems to have a fingerprint reader in between the two buttons for the mouse pad thing. I am not sure how to activate and setup the fingerprint hardware and software. Does anyone has any idea as to how:

I was in the market looking for a laptop that would stand by me through thick and thin for the 4 years of my college life. My previous laptop was old Inspiron 500m which was a thin-and-light notebook made for light tasks and heavy travel. I was looking for a powerful machine but didn’t want a desktop-replacement laptop. Price is not an issue and I wanted to get something for myself as a graduation gift.

My inclination was towards Dell as I have been using Dell laptops for a long time. I looked at a lot of systems from Dell, Asus, Sony Vaio and HP. I dropped Asus and HP early because of cosmetic preferences and eventually went for this Dell machine. Dell Latitude D830 addressed a lot of my concerns and hence I decided that this was the best one for me.
