Why does the charger for my Dell Inspiron not charge my battery?

My computer originally came with a 65 watt charger but I purchase a higher wattage I believe 95 and it charged my battery when I first got it but now when I plug it in it says Dell doesn't recognize this charger. I can use the computer with the charger

my adpater is providing direct power supply to my dell vostro 1400 but not charging the battery. actually, the pin on the power jack is broken, and the cable that comes from the power case shows broken wires. what could be the reason behind not charging the battery? is it the pin on the jack? (my battery is fine. i tried with another adapter, which charged the battery smoothly.) appears my computer has been slow. any suggestion?

@urmomfarturdaddied I just bought the new battery, hoping that my old battery was dead. Well I worked on the new one for about half an hour, had it at 50% and the laptop turned off. when I pressed the button on the battery, it showed a weird sygnal, 3 separate green dots, just like my old battery, and on the little led on the laptop, it showed 4 orange and 1 green signal. not to mention it reduces my CPU speed, i’ll buy a new adapter, and that’s it for trying. this is too frustrating.
