Wanted: Police Seeking This Man For Armed Robbery

Montclair Police have released a composite sketch of the man they are seeking in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Nov. 4 in the area of Orange Road and Linden Avenue.

The victim, a 27-year-old Montclair resident, said he was walking home from work when he heard someone walking behind him on Orange Road. He looked to see if anyone was following him and observed two people. One is described as a black man, 5’11”, heavyset, 25 to 27 years old, and last seen wearing a red-colored hooded sweatshirt. The other is described as a dark-skinned black man, 5’11, skinny, with dreadlocks, about 21 years old and last seen wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and red shorts with black stripes.

The victim stated that the person wearing shorts brandished a black handgun, possibly a 9mm. The pair then took the victim’s cell phone and $35 in cash before the male with the handgun struck the victim in the face with the weapon. The suspects then fled and were last seen on Linden Avenue. A composite sketch of one of the suspects is attached.
